In its 23rd year, L’Elegance Cotillion-Beautillion is a program designed for college-bound high school seniors to encourage and enhance their educational, cultural, spiritual, civic and social development. The six-month program mission is three-pronged. The seniors participate in character-building workshops, seminars and outings that cover the aforementioned subject areas, participate in a fund-raising program for scholarships for college and are featured in a formal, coming-out event that culminates the annual program.
The 33 seniors participating in the 2015 L’Elegance Cotillion-Beautillion Program are outstanding! They possess above average grade point averages, are involved in a myriad of activities, serving their community and church and are admirable leaders. Our alumni have gone on to become CEO’s, attorneys, engineers, medical professionals, educators, etc., and have given back to those behind them.
The scholarship fundraising portion of the program is vital. With the ever-rising costs of higher education, the program’s goals are to assure that every participant receive an educational scholarship for college. Donations received are awarded as scholarships to the students, with only a small portion used for program expenses.
Our ultimate aspiration is to provide each with an adequate scholarship at the end of the program and present them in a well-produced formal event on May 3, 2015. We hope to raise and exceed our campaign’s $2,000 goal to supplement the scholarship funds raised by the students and related program expenses. L’Elegance Cotillion-Beautillion program is a non-profit program, sponsored by the Emmanuel-Brinklow Seventh-day Adventist Church. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent the law allows.
